Gitoki station, located in the eastern district of Gatsibo, Rwanda, is an important player in the country's specialty coffee industry. Founded by Emmanuel Rusatira, Baho Coffee operates several wash stations across Rwanda. Rusatira's vision is to improve the quality of Rwandan coffee while supporting local farmers economically and socially.
Gatsibo Coffee stands out by offering prices for coffee cherries that are much higher than the national average, giving farmers incentives to produce higher quality coffee. The company also provides extensive support to farmers, including agricultural training, small loans, and safety equipment. Additionally, they distribute coffee seeds to help farmers renew their coffee crops and increase production.
This coffee is a single variety of Red Bourbon, has a taste of pineapple jam followed by a spectrum of aromas from mango, and finishes with soft raspberries, this coffee has a soft mouthfeel so this coffee is suitable to be enjoyed in summer with cold or hot served.
